Preguntas frecuentes
/payment/validate verifies the format and authenticity of financial identifiers (BIN, IBAN, SWIFT) and checks their cross-field consistency. Use it at form submission to catch invalid data before hitting your processor. /transaction/risk scores a live transaction for fraud signals using the card BIN country, IP geolocation, and billing country. Use it immediately before authorizing a payment.
Each field you provide is looked up independently. You can pass only a BIN, only an IBAN, or any combination. The consistency check only runs when two or more fields are provided.
The check compares the country implied by each identifier: the BIN-issuing country, the IBAN country prefix, and the SWIFT country (characters 5–6 of the BIC). It also compares the IBAN bank code against the first 4 characters of the SWIFT BIC. Mismatches produce named flags in consistency.flags.
Score components are additive (capped at 1.0): IP/billing country mismatch +0.35, BIN/billing mismatch +0.25, TOR detection +0.40, proxy detection +0.30, VPN detection +0.20, and a VPN fraud score multiplier of up to +0.25. High-value transactions (>$500 USD) with an active VPN add +0.15.
